Outdoor Life in Logan

When you’re not weaving down our single track biking trails or coasting along our smooth, open roads, you could be scaling the rocky cliffs of Logan Canyon or paddling across our various lakes. Cache Valley also offer numerous fishing locations as well as alluring hiking trails that exhibit an array of captivating scenery. With northern Utah’s extensive four-season calendar, the valley also supplies the community with a large list of winter activities. Take a short car ride up to Beaver Mountain or Cherry Peak for an amazing powder day.

Logan is the premier home base for the adventure and travel enthusiast. For weekends away, we are a few short hours reach from multiple national parks including Zions, Canyonlands, Capital Reef, Arches, Bryce Canyon, and Yellowstone. Not many adventurers can pass up Moab’s slick rock trails, jeeping, rock climbing and repelling adventures. With a never-ending list of activities and days out with mother nature, Logan is literally “on the edge” in every possible way!

Mountain Biking

Cache Valley’s mountains are home to miles of trails, varying in difficulty, and a variety of canyons for every skill level and type of rider. There connecting trail systems, and even more in development thanks to many of our local bikers. Joyride Bikes is teaming up with our local Ski Resort in a recently announced new trail system at Beaver Mountain with more trail projects in the near future.

Road Biking

Logan’s elevation gains and open roads in the country creates a cyclists dream destination for endurance road cycling and cyclocross. Logan’s cycling community hosts many races each year that contributes to an exciting cycling community as well as gives back to those in need including the Cache Gran Fondo, Little Red, and Bike with Brent. Logan also recently hosted the Stage 1 of America’s toughest professional stage race, the Tour of Utah. We are excited to help cycling and outdoor recreation grow in Logan!

Rock Climbing

Logan canyon is home to some awesome rock climbing routes with a varying degree of difficulty. Just minutes from town you can be at a pitch, belting on a harness and clipping on some carabineers. Pinnacles, overhangs, and your basic climbing walls allow for climbers of all techniques and skill levels to enjoy the amazing seasons in northern Utah. When weather doesn’t allow for outdoor climbing, our local indoor climbing gyms at Elevation and Utah State push your limits!


Northern Utah’s seasons, mountain terrain and beautiful vegetation have joined forces to facilitate the fisherman’s paradise. Rivers, lakes, dams and ponds are always running with some of the best fish fighting an avid fisherman could dream of. And, with Wyoming and Idaho within an hour of the heart of Logan, a short day trip to a new location provides a constant change of scenery and opportunity to add to your Logan experience.

With so many different canyons lining the Cache Valley mountain side, you are just a few minutes from some great glamping locations or if you want to hike to some untouched rough, rugged and a good hike, we have that too. Get lost in all of the different locations along the Wasatch Mountain Rang. There aren’t many places you can find as many scenic views and beautiful starry nights as Logan has to offer.

Winter Sports

Winter is always knocking on the door. In Northern Utah, we welcome it in with open arms. Why would you when Beaver Mountain, one of Utah’s premiere ski resorts is in your backyard. Just a short drive up an inspiring Logan Canyon, and fun for the whole family is waiting. Recently, Cache Valley was graced with an addition to the winter sports resort family with Cherry Peak moving in just 5 minutes from the highway. Feel like a change, just a few hours can get you Teton’s or to Park City. Pick your poison!
